Wood statuette, 'Singing Frog'
This merry frog has music it its heart. The cheery, bright-eyed amphibian functions as a soundmaker. Carved from suar wood by Luh Mas Sri Pertamiari, it typifies the bells used by Balinese farmers to scare birds away from their crops. Moving the stick back and forth over the figure's spiky back produces a clacking sound, similar to the chirping of a frog.
