Celadon ceramic statuettes, 'No Evil'
A trio of monkeys is depicted in celadon ceramic. One covers its ears, another its mouth, and the third places its hands over its eyes. Known in Thailand as "the three monkeys," the meaning of the images is that humans should not receive bad things or evil from the environment that surrounds them. Thatsanee and Ramphan sculpt the elegant figurines in clay. Using the celadon technique, they color their smooth jade contours with a delightfully crackled glaze.
